After spot cleaning, the surfaces shall <br />be clean, uniform in appearance, and free of streaks and spots. <br /> <br />4.4 QUALITY STANDARDS FOR ROUTINE CLEANING WORK <br /> <br />Bidder’s performance will be monitored by periodic inspections of work to ensure <br />standards of cleanliness and preservation are being attained. Following are specific <br />requirements for the performance of the detailed functions of cleaning the City <br />facilities. Requirements presented are to be considered the minimum acceptable. <br /> <br />A. CARPETS <br /> <br />Carpets will be thoroughly clean and free from dust, dirt, embedded grit, stains, and debris. <br />Nap will be laid in one direction. <br /> <br />B. Bare Floor Cleaning <br /> <br />Bare floors around carpets will be cleaned with a carpet tool. No dirt will be left in corners, <br />under furniture, or behind doors. <br /> <br />C. Furniture and Equipment Replaced <br /> <br />All furniture and equipment moved during the cleaning operation will be returned to its original <br />position. Portable and tank-type machines will be wiped clean, dust bags emptied, and vacuum <br />hose coiled loosely on machine or hung on racks provided for that purpose. Equipment in view <br />will always appear neat and orderly. <br /> <br />4.5 PUBLIC AREAS <br /> <br />A. Sweeping, Dusting and Pickup <br /> <br />Public areas will be clean and free of dirt streaks, litter and spots caused by spilling or tracking. <br />No dirt or debris will be in corners, under furniture, behind doors, or where dirt or where dirt <br />or debris has been picked up during cleaning operations. <br /> <br /> Wads of gum, tar, fecal and all foreign materials will be removed from the area. <br /> All horizontal surfaces or surfaces that will hold just will be fee of observable dust. All <br />surfaces shall have a uniform appearance, free of streaks, smudges, dust, lint, litter, etc. <br /> There will be no spots on vertical surfaces up to a height of 9 feet from floor level. <br /> Doorknobs, push bars, kick plates, railings, floors, and other surfaces shall be cleaned and <br />polished to a luster of a new product. <br /> <br />Drinking fountains, including all sides, will be free of all debris and spots. The wall surfaces <br />around the drinking fountains will be free of water spots and streaks. Drinking fountains will <br />be sanitized to prevent any possibility of germ contamination. <br />
