City of Sunny Isles Beach | Invitation to Bid No. 15‐07‐01 26 <br /> <br />Walls, baseboards, furniture and other surfaces will be free of watermarks, scars, or marks <br />from the cleaning equipment striking the surfaces and splashing from the cleaning solution and <br />rinse water. <br /> <br />Care will be taken throughout the mopping operation to prevent the liquids and equipment <br />from coming into contact with electric outlets located in the floor areas or baseboards. <br /> <br />G. Preparation of Floor Area for Burnishing <br /> <br />Prepare the surface by removing any wet spills with a damp mop. Dried residue (gum, etc.) <br />should be removed with a putty knife and/or Freon. Dust mop the entire surface to be <br />burnished with a lightly treated dust mop or a disposable pad. <br /> <br />Walls, baseboards, furniture bases and other surfaces will be free of watermarks, marks from <br />the cleaning equipment, and splashing from the floor cleaning solutions. All cleaned surfaces <br />should be wiped dry and floor ready for application of the finish. <br /> <br />H. Burnishing <br /> <br />When the burnishing has been completed, the floor surface shall have a uniform high gloss <br />with no swirl marks or blemishes. The solution will be applied thinly, uniformly and evenly in <br />such a manner s to avoid skipping of areas. Walls, baseboards, furniture and other surfaces <br />will be free of solution residue and marks from the equipment. <br /> <br />4.6 OFFICES, LOUNGES, ETC. <br /> <br />A. Trash Removal <br /> <br />All wastepaper baskets will be empty and in place, clean and ready to use. <br />Trash will not be left on the floor. <br /> <br />B. Sweeping or Vacuuming Cleaning <br /> <br />There will not be any foreign substances left in corners, behind radiators, under furniture or <br />behind doors. Baseboards, furniture and equipment will not be disfigured or damaged during <br />the cleaning operation. There will not be any foreign substances left where sweepings were <br />picked up. <br /> <br />Furniture and equipment moved during the sweeping or vacuum cleaning will be replaced. <br />There will be no trash or foreign matter under desks, tables or chairs. <br /> <br />C. Dusting <br /> <br />All surfaces shall have a uniform appearance, free of streaks, smudges, dust, lint, litter, etc. <br />Woodwork, after being properly dusted, will appear bright. Corners and crevices will be free <br />from any dust.
