City of Sunny Isles Beach | Invitation to Bid No. 15‐07‐01 30 <br /> <br />All furniture, pictures, and other furnishings moved during the wall washing operation will be <br />returned to their original positions. <br /> <br />4.11 GLASS CLEANING <br /> <br />A. Preparation of Work <br /> <br />The window area will be cleared of obstructions before washing the window. <br />Dusting Window Frames and Sash, and Washing the Glass. The window frame and sash will <br />be free of dust and loose dirt. The washed glass will be clean and free of dirt, grime and streaks <br />and will be clear of all excess moisture. <br /> <br />The window sash, sill and other surroundings will be free of drippings and other watermarks. <br />Items moved during the washing operation will be replaced to their original position. <br /> <br />B. Use of Safety Equipment and Methods <br /> <br />The safety equipment will be used in accordance with prescribed instruction. <br />Safety practices will be followed throughout the window washing work. <br /> <br />C. Care of Equipment and Materials <br /> <br />All items of equipment used in the window washing work will be in a clean and well cared for <br />condition. Equipment will be stored in assigned storage location. Unused materials will be <br />properly contained and stored. <br /> <br />4.12 STRIPPING AND REFINISHING RESILIENT TILE FLOORS <br /> <br />A. Stripping <br /> <br />Stripping will be defined as the complete removal, without damage to the floor surface, of all <br />finish and/or sealer from all visible floor surfaces and from those floor surfaces that can be <br />exposed by the removal of non-fixed furnishings. Stripping should also include the complete <br />removal of all marks, scuffs, and stains, etc. except in cases in which there is damage to the <br />floor surface. <br /> <br />The stripping chemical(s) used should meet the specifications given in these specifications for <br />the type of finish and/or sealer being stripped, and should be used according to the <br />manufacturer’s directions. <br /> <br />The floors should be scrubbed with a single-disc floor machine equipped with a stripping pad, <br />except those areas in which the use of manual scrubbing devices are necessary to completely <br />remove the finish and/or sealer (along walls, in corners, etc.). The stripping solution and rinse <br />water should be picked up with a wet/dry vacuum except in areas where its use is impossible <br />or impractical (very small areas, areas with low amperage circuits, etc.). <br />
