The second aspect is doing the wiring
within the facility for the computers and phones to the offices. The third component is the
installation of bringing connectivity to our facility here to bring back all that communication,
and the Code Blue Emergency Call Boxes that are being installed in the garage. This is
being done under the US Communities Contract which we also used for the CCTV System
last year.
Public Speakers: None
Commissioner Goldman said a couple of years ago she had that discussion and she doesn't
know if people know how those Code Blue Lights actually work,or if people understand that
this is an emergency system. CIO Arias said it is a security mechanism and so basically you
can walk up to the box and push the button. Commissioner Goldman asked if anybody
understands what it is or how it functions? CIO Arias said after she brought it up they did
have some communication with Cultural and Community Services. They are going to work
on creating a public service announcement to put on CATV and coordinate an article in the
newspaper to inform residents about them because we have them in the garage here at
Government Center, the garage in Heritage Park, and now we will also have them at the new
Gateway Park Parking Garage.
Commissioner Goldman moved and Vice Mayor Gatto seconded a motion to approve the
resolution.
