Summary Minutes: Regular City Commission Meeting September 17, 2015 City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida <br />101. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach; Florida; Ratifying <br />an Agreement with Perkins +Will for Architectural Design Services for a New Facility <br />at 18080 Collins Avenue, in an Amount Not to Exceed $2,222;000.00, Attached Hereto as <br />Exhibit "A'; Authorizing the City Manager to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this <br />Resolution; Providing for an Effective Date. <br />Action: City Clerk Hines read the title. and City Manager Russo reported that this is the <br />contract for not only the development of the complete plans, it also includes a compilation of <br />this into a bidding and the bidding process, the award, and the construction administration of <br />the project, including all the engineering associated with it. <br />Public Speakers: None <br />Commissioner Aelion moved and Vice Mayor Gatto seconded a motion to approve the <br />resolution. Resolution No. 2015 -2459 was adopted by a voice vote of 5 -0 in favor. <br />1 OJ. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Approving <br />an Increase in Spending Authority with Playmore Recreational Products & Services for <br />Sidewalk Repairs at Intracoastal Park and to Reinstall Two (2) Shade Covers at Skate <br />Park, in an Amount Not to Exceed $19.615.00 S 1 8� 115.00, Attached Hereto as Exhibit "A"; <br />Authorizing the City Manager to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this Resolution; <br />Providing for an Effective Date. <br />Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and Capital Projects Manager Elka Linton- Dorsett <br />reported. <br />Public Speakers: None <br />Mayor Scholl said then that this basically finishes that Park, and Ms. Linton - Dorsett said yes, <br />with the exception of fence work which will be done by Fence Masters to put up the fence <br />around the playground and the landscape restoration. Mayor Scholl asked when the <br />playground will be open, and she said we are going through final inspection right now for the <br />playground equipment and a contract was just executed for the fence installation. <br />Commissioner Levin said as a reminder that this is the playground that Nye got $150,000 from <br />the Dezers for. Commissioner Aelion asked about the drainage system change order, he <br />understands about the collapse of the seawall but why wasn't the drainage system looked at <br />by the engineers? City Manager Russo said it was looked at and two significant deep wells <br />were put in at that Park. We had to do some additional work, and Ms. Linton - Dorsett said <br />the grade up system there was specifically for the playground and was intentionally left out <br />from the original contract because of the ongoing work we anticipated in the playground. It <br />was an add - altemate. <br />City Manager Russo said we have one other minor item that is connected to this vendor. <br />Cultural and Community Services Director Susan Simpson said having this company in the <br />City, they gave us a wonderful quote of $1,500 to reinstall the two shade covers at Skate Park <br />that we took down for the potential hurricane. She requested that this be added on to this <br />Resolution, and Mayor Scholl said okay then it would be $19,615. City Attorney Ottinot said <br />we can just make a contract amendment. <br />15 <br />
