SAMSON OCEANFRONT PARK <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES <br />TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS <br /> <br /> <br />SUMMARY OF WORK 01010-1 <br />SECTION 01010 SUMMARY OF WORK <br /> <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br /> <br />1.01 SUMMARY <br /> <br />: This section summarizes the Work of the Project as covered in detail in the complete Contract <br />Documents. This is a general summary and is not intended to be complete and all inclusive of the required Work <br />items. <br />1.02 PROJECT DESCRIPTION <br /> <br />: <br /> A. Description of Total Project: The City of Sunny Isles Beach intends to improve an existing park to <br />optimize usage and to improve operating conditions. Samson Oceanfront Park is widely used by <br />residents who live nearby and use the facility after ocean bathing. The sanitary sewer main for the <br />restrooms will be upgraded and an additional stall per restroom will be added. The improvements also <br />include the addition of a grinder pump, a covered performance stage and a covered children’s playground. <br />New lawn benches and playground benches will be installed. <br /> <br />1.03 RELATED CONTRACT ACTIVITIES <br /> <br />: <br />A. Site improvements. <br /> <br />B. Building renovations. <br /> <br />1.04 WORK PERFORMED BY OTHERS <br /> <br />: <br />A. City of North Miami, Watermain: Relocated Fire Hydrant connection. <br /> <br />B. Miami-Dade County Transit: Bus Stop sign relocation. <br /> <br />1.05 CONTRACTOR'S USE OF PREMISES <br /> <br />: See Section 01530 Temporary Barriers and Controls. <br />1.06 CITY'S USE OF PREMISES <br /> <br />: <br /> A. Partial City Occupancy: The City reserves the right to occupy and to place and install equipment in areas <br />of the Project, prior to Substantial Completion provided that such occupancy does not interfere with <br />completion of the Work. Such placing of equipment and partial occupancy shall not constitute acceptance <br />of the Work. <br /> <br />1.07 WORK SEQUENCE, COORDINATION ACTIVITIES AND SCHEDULED DATES <br /> <br />: <br /> A. General: The CONTRACTOR will coordinate its work with other adjacent contractors, landowners and <br />City activities, with specific attention to access and staging areas. Construction sequence shall be <br />determined by Contractor subject to the following needs for continuous access and operation by others. <br />1. The oceanfront park is actively being used. The contractor shall protect the work areas and close <br />facilities as necessary providing proper signage and construction fencing, while other parts of the <br />park are being used by park users. <br />2. Coordinate with the City for areas that require to be closed for work. <br />3. Construct the new sanitary sewer main and grinder pump first. Install electrical conduits, irrigation, <br />and boardwalk. Construct interior restrooms and walls. Install showers and amenities. Install <br />playground flooring, stage flooring and electrical wiring, playground benches, concrete roof <br />structures. Install light poles, bollards, up lights, furnishings, landscape, signs. Construct the <br />sidewalk and concrete pads and path. <br />
