Samson Oceanfront Park <br />City of Sunny Isles <br />Technical Specifications <br />SODDING 02935-1 <br />SECTION 02935-SODDING <br /> <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br /> <br />1.01 <br /> <br />WORK INCLUDED: <br />A. Provide all labor, materials, necessary equipment, services and included but not limited to all <br />related work to complete the Sodding work, as indicated on the Drawings, as specified herein, or <br />both, except for items specifically indicated as "NIC ITEMS". <br /> <br />B. All areas within Limit of Work not covered by buildings, pavement, playgrounds, shrubs and <br />groundcover shall be sodded. <br /> <br />C. All sodded areas impacted by construction shall be repaired and replaced with new sod. <br /> <br />1.02 <br /> <br /> A. Examine Contract Documents for requirements that affect the work of this Section. Other <br />Specifications Sections that relate directly to work of this Section include but are not limited to: <br /> 1. Section 02910, TREE RELOCATION <br /> 2. Section 02950, TREES, PLANTS, AND GROUNDCOVERS <br /> <br />RELATED WORK: <br />1.03 <br /> <br /> A. Comply with applicable requirements of the following standards. Where these standards conflict <br />with other specification requirements, the most restrictive requirements shall govern. <br />REFERENCES: <br />1. American Society For Testing and Materials (ASTM): <br /> D1557 Moisture-Density Relations of Soils and Soil Aggregate Mixtures Using 10 <br />lb(4.54kg) Rammer and 18 in (457mm) Drop. <br />2. State of Florida Dept of Transportation (FDOT): <br />Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction. <br /> <br />1.04 <br /> <br /> A. Test report of the topsoil shall be submitted to the Landscape Architect. Report shall include <br />recommendations on the type and quantity of additives required to achieve the required pH and <br />nutrients to maintain healthy growth of sod growth. <br /> <br /> B. Certificates: <br /> 1. Growers certification: <br /> a. St Augustine ‘Floratam’ species should be certified, including specification of field <br />location from which sod is cut. <br /> b. Manufacturer's certification of fertilizer and herbicide composition. <br /> <br /> C. Maintenance Instruction. <br /> 1. Prior to the end of the maintenance period, furnish two copies of written maintenance <br />instructions to the Owner and one copy to the Landscape Architect for maintenance and <br />care of the sod areas throughout a full growing season. <br /> <br />SUBMITTALS: <br />1.05 <br /> <br /> A. Testing Agency: An Independent Testing Laboratory. <br /> <br /> B.
