Acceptance of material by the Landscape Architect will be for general conformance to specified <br />requirements and shall not diminish responsibility for full conformance with the Contract <br />Documents. <br /> <br /> C. Upon completion and re-inspection of all repairs or renewals necessary in the judgment of the <br />Landscape Architect, the Landscape Architect will recommend to the Owner that the work of this <br />Section be accepted as Substantially Complete. <br /> <br />D. Sod areas will be accepted as substantially complete when in compliance with the following <br />conditions: <br /> 1. Roots are thoroughly knit to the soil; <br /> 2. Absence of visible joints; <br /> 3. All areas show a uniform stand of the specified grass in a healthy condition. <br /> <br />E. Acceptance in Part <br /> 1. The work may be accepted in parts when it is deemed to be in the Owner’s best interest to <br />do so, and when permission is given to the Contractor in writing to complete the work in <br />parts. <br /> 2. Acceptance and use of such areas by the Owner shall not waive any other provisions of this <br />Contract. <br /> <br />1.09 <br /> <br />A. Guarantee sod for a period of three months after date of Substantial Completion. <br /> <br />B. Replacement sod under this guarantee shall be guaranteed for an additional three months from the <br />date of installation. <br /> <br />C. Repair any damage caused by sod replacement at no cost to the Owner. <br /> <br />GUARANTEE: <br />1.10 <br /> <br /> A. Sod shall be uniform in color, leaf texture, leaf and root density, and free from weeds, diseases, <br />and other visible imperfections at acceptance. <br /> <br /> B. Guarantee does not cover damage as a result of fertilizers, pesticides, or other applications not <br />supervised by the Contractor or as a result of acts of God or vandalism. <br /> <br />QUALITY GUARANTEE: <br />1.11 <br /> <br /> A. Maintain sod as described in PART 3 of this section. <br /> <br />MAINTENANCE: <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br /> <br />2.01 <br /> <br />SOD: <br />A. Sod shall be nursery grown on cultivated mineral agricultural soils. Sod shall have been mowed <br />regularly and carefully and otherwise maintained until harvest. <br /> <br />B. Grass Species: St. Augustine “ Floratam” <br /> <br />C. Thickness of cut: Sod shall be machine cut at a uniform soil thickness of 5/8 in. Measurement of <br />thickness shall exclude top growth and thatch. <br />
