SAMSON OCEANFRONT PARK <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES <br />TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS <br /> <br />CONCRETE FORMWORK 03100-2 <br />1.08 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND PROTECTION: <br /> <br />A. Section 01600 - Materials and Equipment: Transport, handle, store, and protect products. <br /> <br />B. Store off ground in ventilated and protected manner to prevent deterioration from moisture. <br /> <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br /> <br />2.01 FORM MATERIALS: <br /> <br />A. Wood Form Materials: Site fabricated plywood with wood reinforcement. <br /> <br />B. Circular Column Form Materials: Sonotube. <br /> <br />2.02 FORMWORK ACCESSORIES: <br /> <br />A. Form Release Agent: Colorless mineral oil which will not stain concrete, or absorb moisture, or <br />impair natural bonding or color characteristics of coating intended for use on concrete. <br /> <br />B. Nails, Spikes, Lag Bolts, Through Bolts, Anchorages: Sized as required, of sufficient strength and <br />character to maintain formwork in place while placing concrete. <br /> <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br /> <br />3.01 EXAMINATION: <br /> <br />A. Verify lines, levels and centers before proceeding with formwork. Ensure that dimensions agree <br />with drawings and/or original dimensions. <br /> <br />3.02 ERECTION – FORMWORK: <br /> <br />A. Erect formwork, shoring and bracing to achieve design requirements, in accordance with <br />requirements of ACI 301. <br /> <br />B. Provide bracing to ensure stability of formwork. Shore or strengthen formwork subject to over <br />stressing by construction loads. <br /> <br />C. Arrange and assemble formwork to permit dismantling and stripping. Do not damage concrete <br />during stripping. Permit removal of remaining principal shores. <br /> <br />D. Align joints and make watertight. Keep form joints to a minimum. <br /> <br />E. If formwork is placed after reinforcement resulting in insufficient concrete cover over <br />reinforcement, before proceeding, request instructions from Engineer. <br /> <br />3.03 APPLICATION - FORM RELEASE AGENT: <br /> <br />A. Apply form release agent on formwork in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations. <br /> <br />B. Apply prior to placement of reinforcing steel, anchoring devices, and embedded items. <br /> <br />C. Do not apply form release agent where concrete surfaces will receive applied coverings which are <br />effected by agent. Soak inside surfaces of untreated forms with clean water. Keep surfaces coated <br />prior to placement of concrete.
