Screed floors or to match slopes, maintaining surface flatness of maximum % inch in 10 ft. <br /> <br />3.04 <br /> <br />CONCRETE FINISHING: <br />A. Provide formed concrete surfaces to be left exposed with smooth rubbed finish. <br /> <br />B. Provide floor surfaces with steel trowel finish. <br /> <br />3.05 <br /> <br />CURING AND PROTECTION: <br />A. Immediately after placement, protect concrete from premature drying, excessively hot <br />temperatures, and mechanical injury. <br /> <br />B. Maintain concrete with minimal moisture loss at relatively constant temperature for period <br />necessary for hydration of cement and hardening of concrete. <br /> <br />C. Cure concrete floor surfaces in accordance with ACI 308. <br /> <br />D. Spraying: Spray water over floor slab areas and maintain wet for 7 days. <br /> <br />E. Curing Compound: Apply curing compound in accordance with manufacturer's instruction as an <br />alternate to spraying. Confirm that curing compound is compatible with any subsequent paint or <br />coating. <br /> <br />3.06 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL: <br /> <br /> <br />A. Section 01400- Quality Assurance: Field inspection and testing. <br /> <br />B. Provide free access to Work and cooperate with appointed firm. <br /> <br />C. Four concrete test cylinders will be taken per concrete delivery. <br /> <br />D. One slump test will be taken per concrete delivery. <br /> <br />3.07 <br /> <br />PATCHING: <br />A. Allow Engineer to inspect concrete surfaces immediately upon removal of forms. <br /> <br />B. Shrinkage cracking, honeycomb or embedded debris in concrete shall be considered defective <br />concrete. <br /> <br />C. Patch imperfections as directed. Repair shrinkage cracks with pressure- injected or gravity-feed <br />epoxy adhesive as directed by the Engineer. <br /> <br />3.08 DEFECTIVE CONCRETE: <br /> <br /> <br />A. Defective Concrete: Concrete not conforming to required lines, details, dimensions, tolerances or <br />specified requirements. <br /> <br />B. Repair or replacement of defective concrete will be determined by the Engineer. <br /> <br />C. Do not patch, fill, touch-up, repair, or replace exposed concrete except upon express direction of <br />Engineer for each individual area. <br />
