SAMSON OCEANFRONT PARK <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES <br />TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS <br />PORTLAND CEMENT PLASTER 092423-2 <br /> <br />2.02 CEMENT PLASTER MIXES <br /> <br />: <br />A. Cement Plaster: Premix in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. Use <br />bonding agent as mixing liquid as recommended by manufacturer. <br /> <br />B. Mix only as much plaster as can be used prior to initial set. <br /> <br />C. Mix materials dry, to uniform color and consistency, before adding mixing liquid. <br /> <br />D. Protect mixtures from contamination and evaporation. <br /> <br />E. Do not retemper mixes after initial set has occurred. <br /> <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br /> <br />3.01 <br /> <br />EXAMINATION: <br />A. Verify surfaces and site conditions under provisions of Section 01039. <br /> <br />B. Masonry: Verify joints are cut flush and surface is ready to receive work of this Section <br />Verify no bituminous or water repellent coatings exist on masonry surface. <br /> <br />C. Concrete: Verify surfaces are flat, honeycombs are filled flush, and surfaces are ready to receive work <br />of this Section. Verify no bituminous, water repellent, or form release agents exist on concrete <br />surfaces that are detrimental to plaster. <br /> <br />3.02 <br /> <br />PREPARATION: <br />A. Dampen masonry surfaces to reduce excessive suction. <br /> <br />B. Clean concrete surfaces of foreign matter. Clean surfaces using acid solutions, solvents, or detergents. <br />Wash surfaces with clean water. <br /> <br />C. Roughen smooth concrete surfaces and apply bonding agent. Apply in accordance with <br /> manufacturer's instructions. <br /> <br />3.03 <br /> <br />PLASTERING: <br />A. Apply plaster in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. <br /> <br />B. Apply brown coat to a nominal thickness of 3/8 inch and a finish coat to a nominal thickness of 1/8 <br />inch over masonry and concrete surfaces to match existing surfaces. <br /> <br />C. Moist cure brown coats. <br /> <br />D. After curing, dampen base coat prior to applying finish coat. <br /> <br />E. Apply finish coat and trowel to a consistent finish to match existing. <br /> <br />F. Avoid excessive working of surface. Delay troweling as long as possible to avoid drawing excess <br /> fines to surface. <br /> <br />G. Moist cure finish coat for minimum period of 48 hours. <br /> <br /> <br />
