Second and Third Coats: Epoxy Coating <br /> <br />3.06 APPLICATION <br /> <br />: <br /> A. General: <br /> 1. Spray, brush or roller paint all work, except as approved by the Engineer. <br /> 2. Each coat shall be brushed on wall and worked out evenly to have no brush marks. <br /> 3. Each coat shall be flowed on smoothly and free from sags and runs. <br /> 4. Rate of application shall not exceed average rate of coverage recommended by paint manufacturer <br />for the type of surface involved. Minimum dry film thickness per coat shall not be less than <br />thickness recommended by the paint manufacturer. <br /> 5. Each coat of paint shall be a perceptibly different shade or color. <br /> 6. Contractor shall apply additional coats of paint or finish as required to cover surfaces completely <br />which are painted or finished to provide uniform color and appearance. <br /> 7. A whole wall shall be refinished rather than spot finishing where a portion of the finish has been <br />damaged or is unsatisfactory. <br /> 8. Minimum drying time shall comply with that recommended by the paint manufacturer. Each coat <br />shall be thoroughly dry before application of succeeding coats. <br /> 9. Sand between coats where required to obtain smooth finish. <br /> 10. Make edges of paint adjoining other materials or colors sharp and clean, and without overlapping. <br /> <br /> B. Painted Work: <br /> 1. Back prime all exterior woodwork with house paint. <br /> 2. Back prime all interior trim, exercising due care to prevent runs on face of trim. <br /> 3. Touch-up all scarred and abraded places on shop primed work after cleaning and smoothing down <br />to avoid shoulders. <br /> <br />3.07 PROTECTION <br /> <br />: <br /> A. Protect work of other trades against damage, injury, or soiling from materials, tools or utensils used. <br /> <br /> B. Furniture and other movable objects, equipment, fittings, and accessories shall be moved, protected, and <br />replaced upon completion of a space.
