Summary of Work: The CONTRACTOR shall include the removal of existing construction to limits <br />indicated on drawings where earthwork or other construction operations are to be performed as <br />specified herein. The ENGINEER shall not be responsible for the condition of any items to be <br />removed or salvaged. <br /> <br />B. RELATED WORK: <br />1. SITE PREPARATION: Section 02100. <br />2. CLEARING and LAND PREPARATION: Section 02110. <br /> <br />1.02 <br /> <br />APPLICABLE PUBLICATIONS: (Not Used) <br />1.03 <br /> <br />DEFINITIONS: (Not Used) <br />1.04 <br /> <br />SUBMITTALS: <br />A. Schedule of Demolition: <br />1. Submit proposed methods and operations of demolition for review prior to the start of work. <br /> <br />B. Permits: <br />1. The CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for acquiring appropriate necessary permits for the <br />wo rk. Copies of the permits shall be submitted to the ENGINEER. <br /> <br />1.05 QUALIFICATIONS: <br /> <br /> Employ experienced workers in the specified work ares. <br />1.06 <br /> <br />RESPONSIBILITIES: <br />A. The CONTRACTOR shall not commence demolition of structure(s) prior written permission of the <br />ENGINEER. <br /> <br />C. Condition of structures to be demolished: <br />1. The City assumes no responsibility for actual condition of structures to be demolished. <br />2. Conditions existing at time of inspection for bidding purposes will be maintained by City <br />insofar as practicable. <br /> <br />C. The CONTRACTOR shall remove all such foundations to one foot below the proposed sub-grades. <br /> <br />D. Explosives: The use of explosives will not be permitted. The CONTRACTOR may use a non- <br />explosive, expanding agent in drilled holes for the demolition of concrete, and shall conform to all <br />manufacturers’ recommendations, including safety precautions for mixing and placing the agent. <br /> <br />E. The CONTRACTOR shall ensure the safe passage of persons around the area of demolition and <br />clearing. The CONTRACTOR shall conduct operations to prevent injury to adjacent structures, other <br />facilities, and persons. <br />1. The CONTRACTOR shall protect existing finish work that is to remain in place from <br />damage due to demolition operations. <br /> <br />F. Traffic:
