Summary of Work: The CONTRACTOR shall provide all material, labor and equipment for <br />painting of traffic stripes as shown on the Drawings and specified herein. <br /> <br />B. RELATED WORK: <br />1. N/A <br /> <br />1.02 APPLICABLE PUBLICATIONS <br /> <br />: <br />A. Florida Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, <br />latest edition, (FDOT, latest edition). <br /> <br />1.03 DEFINITIONS: (Not Used <br /> <br />) <br />1.04 <br /> <br />SUBMITTALS: (Not Used) <br />1.05 <br /> <br />QUALIFICATIONS: (Not Used) <br />1.06 <br /> <br />RESPONSIBILITIES: (Not Used) <br />1.07 CERTIFICATIONS AND TESTING: (Not Used <br /> <br />) <br />1.08 INSPECTION COORDINATION: <br /> <br /> The CONTRACTOR shall provide access to the WORK for the <br />ENGINEER as requested for inspection. The CONTRACTOR shall provide 48 hours notice of its intention to <br />begin new WORK activities. <br />1.09 <br /> <br />WARRANTY: (Not Used) <br />PART 2 – PRODUCTS <br /> <br />2.01 TRAFFIC PAINT: <br /> <br /> The CONTRACTOR shall furnish pavement markings conforming to FDOT Section <br />971, white or yellow traffic paint. <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br /> <br />3.01 SURFACE PREPARATION: <br /> <br /> The CONTRACTOR shall clean the surface to be painted by compressed air, <br />or other effective means, immediately before the start of painting, and the area shall be clean and dry when <br />the paint is applied. <br />3.02 WEATHER LIMITATIONS: <br /> <br /> The CONTRACTOR shall not apply paint when any moisture is present on <br />the surface to be painted or when the air temperature is below 40 degrees F. Painting shall not be done <br />when winds are sufficient to cause spray dust. <br />3.03 APPLICATION: <br /> <br /> The CONTRACTOR shall apply paint to obtain traffic stripes four inches in width unless <br />otherwise specified. The stripe shall be clean, with true edges and without sharp breaks in the alignment. A <br />uniform coating of paint shall be obtained and the finished stripe shall contain no spots or paint skips. Any <br />stripes, which do not have a uniform, satisfactory appearance, shall be corrected. The required minimum <br />wet film thickness shall be 15 mils. Where the stripe deviates from the correct alignment as indicated on <br />the Drawings by more than one inch in any fifty foot length, it shall be obliterated and the stripe corrected. <br />No stripe shall be less than the specified width or exceed the specified width by one-half inch.
