Summary Minutes:Special City Commission Meeting April S.2003 Sunny Isles Beach.Florida <br /> S2,200,000.00 and Other Such Consideration; Authorizing the Mayor to Execute Such <br /> Contract and Directing the City Manager and City Attorney to Do All Things Necessary to <br /> Effectuate this Resolution; Providing for an Effective Date. <br /> Action: City Manager Russo reported. Acting City Clerk Hines read into the record that <br /> Commissioner Iglesias could not attend today's meeting but supports this Resolution. <br /> Public Speakers: Aletha Player of FPL <br /> City Manager Russo presented the conceptual plan and stated that the final plan will go <br /> before the City Commission for site plan review, and that FPL has 150 days to get their <br /> approvals, before we close on the property. <br /> Mayor Samson was concerned about the appearance of the building. City Manager Russo <br /> introduced Aletha Player of FPL and Ms. Player said that this is a state of the art station and <br /> that it is the first of its kind, and that the City will be proud of it. <br /> Vice Mayor Edelcup moved and Commissioner Kauffman seconded a motion to approve <br /> the resolution. Resolution No. 2003-534 was adopted by a roll-call vote of 4-0-1 in <br /> favor. <br /> Vote: Commissioner Goodman ves <br /> Commissioner Iglesias absent <br /> Commissioner Kauffman yes <br /> Vice Mayor Edelcup yes <br /> Mayor Samson yes <br /> 4. Add-On <br /> An Ordinance of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida,Amending <br /> Ordinance No. 99-75 and Ordinance No. 2001-142, Entitled "Flood Damage Prevention"; <br /> Providing for Amendment of Definitions,General Provisions and Administration;Amending <br /> Conditions for Variances; Providing for Severability; Providing for Repealer; Providing for <br /> Inclusion in the Code and an Effective Date. <br /> Action:[City Clerk's Note: Documents handed out at meeting] Acting City Clerk Hines read <br /> the title and City Attorney Dannheisser reported that FEMA had technical changes which are <br /> now incorporated into this Ordinance. <br /> Public Speakers: None <br /> City Manager Russo stated that we need this approved in order to submit a FEMA application <br /> for stormwater grant money from the Federal Government. Vice Mayor Edelcup asked if <br /> there were substantive changes, and City Attorney Dannheisser said no. <br /> 7 <br />
