Summary Minutes:Regular City Commission Meeting November 19,2015 City of Sunny Isles Beach,Florida Commissioner Aelion said he had voiced to staff the sensitive exposure to our residents or visitors who are going to use the Beach Accesses and he had asked staff to look into a non- abusive scenario wherein the developers may use other means, like for example times as an alternative to seek beach closures only in inevitable situations where they would be forced to do that, then he has to provide a permit. City Manager Russo said this gives us the total flexibility to have that discretion, and City Attorney Ottinot agreed. Commissioner Aelion moved and Vice Mayor Gatto seconded a motion to approve the proposed Ordinance on first reading. The motion was approved by a roll call vote of 5-0 in favor. Second reading, public hearing will be held on Thursday,December 17,2015, at 6:30 p.m. Vote: Commissioner Aelion yes Commissioner Goldman yes Commissioner Levin yes Vice Mayor Gatto yes Mayor Scholl yes 7E. An Ordinance of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach,Florida,Amending Section 156-2 of the Code of Ordinances of Sunny Isles Beach, Entitled "Fees and Miscellaneous" to Provide for Permit Fees for Lane and Beach Access Closures; Providing for Severability; Providing for Inclusion in the Code; Providing for an Effective Date. Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and Deputy City Manager Stan Morris reported that this Ordinance establishes the fee schedule for the permits.
