This innovative project is being jointly funded <br /> by The City of West Palm Beach, Palm Beach County (Environmental Resource <br /> Tel: (561) <br /> Tex: 684-4150 Management) and South Florida Water Management District. The innovative <br /> project is one important step in the process to rehydrate and biologically restore <br /> DLYOUNG(@,co.palm-beach.fl.us 10,000 acres of the historic Loxahatchee Slough, adjacent to the Grassy Waters <br /> Preserve in the City of West Palm Beach Water Catchment Area. <br /> RJ BEHAR'S ROLE The project will help satisfy four important environmental goals: <br /> Bridge design, drainage design, road- <br /> . Replenish water supply to the Loxahatchee Slough; <br /> way improvements and permitting • Provide additional flood control; <br /> • Provide a vital wildlife crossing of Northlake Boulevard; and <br /> • Provide a canoe trail(for recreational use). <br /> PROJECT STARTED: 10/2005 As part of the project, RJ Behar designed the relocation of 1,310 feet of 20 inch <br /> PROJECT COMPLETED: On-going water main and 1,299 feet of 16 inch force main. The new water main and force <br /> COST/FEES PAID: $116,378 main will be relocated on the new bridge.
