<br /> Cooper City Owns, operates, and maintains approximately 87 miles of gravity sewer NA
<br /> • mains, 72 lift stations, and approximately 29 miles of sewage force mains. Out of the 72
<br /> • stations 43 stations pump directly into a looped force main network which connects the Services Provided
<br /> • eastern part of the City to the western section of the City where the Waste Water Civil Engineering Study
<br /> Treatment Plant is located.The remaining lift stations pump to local pump stations near
<br /> II the force main. The existing force main varies from 4" to 24" inches in diameter. Most of
<br /> • the force main consists of cast iron or ductile iron pipes, but some are high-density
<br /> • polyethylene (HDPE) or C-900 PVC pipe.The major mains have been constructed within
<br /> the last 25 years and are believed to be in good physical conditions.

<br /> • The purpose of the Calvin Giordano &Associates, Inc. (CGA) force main hydraulic report
<br /> was to provide the City of Cooper City with a physical representation of the sanitary
<br /> • sewer transmissions system "force main" which reflects existing and proposed
<br /> • hydraulic behaviors within the system.
<br /> • The report provides the City with a detailed hydraulic understanding of the existing
<br /> • conditions within the network and outlines any deficiencies within the network and
<br /> • pump stations due to an increase of flows in the entire network. Furthermore, the
<br /> • report makes recommendations for capital improvements that will increase the
<br /> efficiency and extend the life of the system.
