PRESIDENT, SENIOR SOIL SCIENTIST Shailesh Patel has 20 years of experience in the consulting business and in particular developing viable projects for both private and municipal and county entities. He has worked on numerous watershed water quality and land development projects that have included sediment assessment, dredging, waterfront facilities and related structures, including buildings, parks, mining wastes, drainage and stormwater management, transportation issues, environmental surveys and related mitigation. He is President of Dredging & Marine Consultants, LLC and has twice served as the President of the Florida Lake Management Society and serves on other technical and civic organizations. He has managed or assisted with numerous controversial public dredging and marina projects from initial feasibility studies, involving the public, to project implementation and Inspection to post-construction assessment. Shailesh continues to add to his extensive knowledge of designing cost-effective and environmentally- sound lake, estuary, and canal/channel dredging and shoreline stabilization and land development projects, including sediment treatment, management, disposal operations, beneficial reuse of dredged sediments, source control and impacts of tidal, storm or hurricane surges on protection structure. He is well spoken and understands the value of effective listening and communication to our clients and public concerns and needs and has presented to City and County councils for many projects. He has the ability to visualize the long term needs of clients and understand the economic, social, and political climates and has worked on many highly visible and controversial projects so that they can be implemented. His biggest attribute is to be able to forge a good relationship and open communication with various stake holders on large scale projects and keep the various stakeholders focused on the goal of long-term projects. He continually participates in professional, scientific, and marine construction conferences to keep abreast of advances in dredging, water quality, and latest marine products to educate the public and clients. He passionately promotes responsible development and resource protection along our waterways and water bodies.
