PROJECT EXPERIENCE (COMM)
Canal Conveyance Capacity Program Phase 2, South Florida Water Management District -
Assessment of approximately 5 miles of existing G-16 drainage canal for the SFWMD Canal
Conveyance Capacity Program in Broward County. Reviewed as-built plans and surveyed the entire
canal right-of-way including: documentation of existing conditions, focusing on areas of potential canal
bank erosion and failure, outfall pipe and structure replacement needs and sediment accumulation
mapping within the canal. Completed water quality and sediment testing for both physical and chemical
parameters. The chemical parameters included metals, nutrients, pesticides, herbicides, PAHs, Oil and
Grease, specific conductance and pH. Also provided a Final report documenting all the conditions,
findings and recommendations for repair and associated costs.
Dredge Material Disposal Site Assessments, St. Lucie County, FL — Biologist. Assessed seven
upland sites as potential temporary and permanent sediment disposal areas. Sites were evaluated for
environmental resources, threatened and endangered species (including scrub jays and gopher
tortoises), engineering practicality, and proximity to dredge project. Coordinated with the county's
environmental, public works, and airport staff as well as with state and federal regulatory agencies.
Taylor Creek Emergency Shoreline Stabilization, St. Lucie County, FL — Onsite Inspector.
Performed construction inspections to ensure environmental permit, engineering design and safety
compliance during construction of seawall and rock revetment. Coordinated with contractor to verify
proper material and testing requirements were met.
Taylor Creek Restoration Dredging, Phase 2, S. Lucie County, FL — Biologist - Evaluated seven
® upland sites as potential temporary and permanent sediment disposal areas. Sites were evaluated for
floral & fauna resources, wetlands, threatened and endangered species (including scrub jays and
gopher tortoises), to assist with permitting and practicality of sites. Coordinated with the county's
environmental, public works, and airport staff as well as with state and federal regulatory agencies.
Assessed for shoreline vegetation, including mangroves, and with DOS of historical value of site.
Taylor Creek Restoration Shoreline Stabilization, Phase 3, St. Lucie County, FL — Ecologist -
Restoration and stabilization of 12 severely eroded areas totaling 2,805 linear feet of shoreline.
Assisted with inspection of rock revetments during construction. Confirmed proper slope, structure,
stabilization and environmental compliance measures.
Anclote River Maintenance Dredging, Tarpon Springs, FL — Onsite Inspector. Environmental
compliance monitoring during channel maintenance dredging. Measured turbidity levels and inspected
for proper environmental protection measures (turbidity barriers, manatee protection, etc.) for duration
of the project. Data was sent to FL DEP in weekly summary reports.
Tarpon Springs Turbidity Monitoring, Tarpon Springs, FL — Onsite Inspector. Environmental
compliance monitoring during channel maintenance dredging. Measured turbidity levels and inspected
for proper environmental protection measures (turbidity barriers, manatee protection, etc.) for duration
of the project. Data was sent to FL DEP in weekly summary reports.
Aesop's Park-Dog Park and Park Improvements, Tavares, FL — Biologist. Provided background
information and revisions for the park conceptual plan, which includes a dog park, children's
playground, ADA restroom, community garden, stormwater pond restoration, butterfly garden and
exercise trail. Conducted ecological assessments and coordinated with the project engineer and
® professional surveying staff on the design of a dog park and associated facilities. Also, coordinated
with the City to manage the bidding process.
