Chemistry (University of Kentucky, 1986) <br /> RELEVANT EXPERIENCE <br /> Mr. Gunsalus has the responsibility to ensure that the Quality Systems in place at Pace Analytical- <br /> Florida are fully implemented and followed in order for the laboratory to achieve established <br /> standards of quality. This includes maintaining regulatory compliance, data validation, laboratory <br /> analytical protocols, quality assurance documentation and conformance to quality criteria. He <br /> serves as a liaison between Pace Analytical-Florida and state/federal regulatory agencies on quality <br /> control issues. Mr. Gunsalus provides technical support to laboratory operations and clients <br /> regarding methodology and project QA/QC requirements and is responsible for performing internal <br /> performance audits as well as systems audits on a regular basis. <br /> Mr. Gunsalus brings extensive laboratory, regulatory and managerial experience to the Quality <br /> ® Manager position with over 13 years' of environmental laboratory and field experience and 9 years' <br /> providing management support and consulting to corporations and local businesses. Mr. Gunsalus <br /> has a track record of successfully developing and implementing efficient complex systems to <br /> achieve the desired results in a variety of situations and with various team dynamics. For two years <br /> Mr. Gunsalus served as the Lead Quality Management professional for five laboratories in a national <br /> network of environmental testing and sampling laboratories. He managed certifications, <br /> deliverables, audits and corrective actions for the EPA contract laboratory program, AFCEE, FDEP <br /> and numerous clients and projects. He also participated in state, regional and national conferences <br /> and development committees. Mr. Gunsalus has developed and delivered presentations to <br /> engineers, laboratory professionals and other scientists as well as business leaders and students. <br /> As a laboratory director for 5 years, Mr. Gunsalus was responsible for the direction and coordination <br /> of 60+ employees in 5 locations throughout Florida. He provided vision and leadership for project <br /> management, customer service, sales and Quality Assurance in a full service laboratory <br /> environment including field operations. He has laboratory bench experience in classical wet <br /> chemistry methodologies, metals analyses employing flame and graphite furnace AA, ICP/OES, <br /> hydride and cold vapor AA instrumentation; gross alpha/gross beta radiological analyses, organic <br /> extractions and method development. Matrices for these analyses included drinking water, waste <br /> water, soils, sludge, hazardous waste, sea waters and air; with applications to RCRA, TSCA, UST, <br /> SDWA, NPDES among others as well as research oriented method development. As a field project <br /> manager, Mr. Gunsalus ensured that field sampling and analyses met the needs of regulatory <br /> monitoring programs and research scientists and that both, in-house and contracted teams, met all <br /> quality, analytical and financial requirements. <br />
