All of these studies were integral in determining ® the costs and benefits of the development of public infrastructure to service their communities. Performing a study of this nature is an exercise in detail by first, ® identifying a variety of alternatives, and then, identifying multiple operational and O prioritization criteria. Financial analysis is also crucial. This includes cost of land, ® planning, design, construction as well as operations and maintenance amortized ® over the life of the facility. The studies progress by screening alternatives through ® the various criteria and finally ranking alternatives. Once a preferred alternative is selected, it is critical to perform the necessary public outreach in order to ® implement the facility. Engineering studies are part of the land development processes: An evaluation ® of roads, bridges, buildings all fall under the purview of engineering analysis. ® Corradino has a full-complement of civil, roadway, and construction engineers ® that work on similar efforts for municipal and state governments across the nation. In light of the- -more diverse livability goals of ® contemporary transportation and -urban planning, the methods of considering transportation projects is changing more quickly in recent years. Corradino practices a combination of corridor/livability projects, which represent a new ® generation of transportation planning in South Florida. This approach ® acknowledges that transportation and land use are inextricably linked.
