(EC ) may forward to a prospective client. This letter provides a brief summary of the project needs - <br /> and how ECT met them. <br /> • <br /> The City of Tampa developed plans to build the Tampa-Ybor Historic Electric Streetcar(trolley car)near <br /> 1 our facility. This required extensive utility work in subsurface zones, potentially impacted by coal tar <br /> from a former manufactured gas plant(MGP)at our site. The project also restricted traffic at a rush hour <br /> artery, further increasing its visibility and exposure to the public. <br /> 1 PGS wanted the potential coal-tar-related impacts and health and safety (H&S) issues to be properly <br /> managed. Priorities were to protect workers, the public and the environment from hazards, while <br /> protecting PGS from unwarranted attention or liability. Given the municipal traffic needs, impacted <br /> 1 media management by PGS also could not delay the high-profile work. <br /> PGS hired ECT to manage all potentially impacted soil, drill cuttings, and dewatering discharges. ECT <br /> 1 was also required to establish the H&S chain of command, provide OSHA-mandated H&S training, <br /> specify contractor field procedures,direct site H&S,and monitor workers for exposure. <br /> 1 The high-profile project was completed without incident, unwarranted public attention to the facility, or <br /> claims for liability for any H&S or environmental impacts. The project was completed on time and below <br /> its purchase order budgets.
