Approach / Methodology C® S
CONSULTANTS,INC.
Methodology to Implement and Accomplish the Project
The CES Team recognizes that a multi-phase approach is required throughout the life of each
project, to ensure that unnecessary pitfalls are avoided; that the impact to business, schools and
residential communities are minimized and that change orders during the construction phase
are curtailed. The CES Team will analyze and carefully plan every aspect of the project including
interagency coordination, permitting and regulatory compliance, pre-design, design and limited
construction phase, relying on proven project implementation methods as described below:
Existing Conditions Confirmation and Future Project Coordination
Field checking of topographic and utility survey, existing ROW, and verifying project limits;
1 Conducting test pits or air/vacuum extractions to locate unclearly defined utilities (air/vacuum
soil extraction is a proven technology for locating and verifying underground utilities while
essentially eliminating the potential for damage to the utility); Confirming utility clearances and
1 potential relocation requirements. We also contact all agencies having jurisdiction in the project
area and investigate whether new projects are planned for this area.
Existing ROW and Easements
' Coordination and planning with the City of Coral Gables, FDOT, Miami-Dade County Public
Works Department, and communities for acquisition of deficient ROW as needed. Perform field
checking of project limits, to identify existing and potential areas for new easements and ROW.
Environmental/Geotechnical Soil Borings
Locating (and survey) soil borings to confirm subsurface
major9 Fm«`z3#l.7
c2i r.
1 conditions alongthe route and at corridor crossings z
xi ,tI :.
(canals, Florida turnpike, and key roadways) and f ; ,? ,, jg ;
` '
characterizing contaminated soils if discovered.
