The design evaluation included
water quality spreadsheet analysis to assess the treatment and pollutant removal for BOD,TSS,TP and TN as well as the
• development of a hydrological model of the watershed. The selected treatment system was the created wetland system
• based on gravity flow. Required environmental permits were obtained from government agencies (SWFWMD,ACOE)
in 2005, and the project was completed in 2006.The project was cooperatively funded by the Southwest Florida Water
• Management District and the Florida (SWFWMD) Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
0 The project received an award as Project of the Year from the Ridge Branch of the American Society of
• Civil Engineers in 2008.
•
•
® Client: City of Lakeland Public Works Department
Contact: Douglas Gleckler,Mgr.
