Continuing Professional Architectural & Engineering Services 2.0 Qualifications
RFQ No. 12-04-02
Districtwide Traffic Operations & Safety Contract, FDOT District Six, Miami, FL
Khalil L. Maarouf Traffic Operations Analyst
1000 NW 111 Avenue, Room 6206A
Miami, FL 33172-5800
(305) 470-6705/(305) 470-5815
This project required special studies for: Safety Studies; Qualitative Assessments; Signal Warrant
Analysis; Intersection Analysis; Arterial Analysis; Left-turn Phase Warrant Analysis; Supplemental
Tasks and Fatal Crash Reviews. The Safety Study project required the analysis of a segment of
highway between one-half and one mile in length. The work associated with the arterial safety review
involved plotting data, performing specific analysis utilizing specific software, including modeling
traffic demand, and developing several alternatives to solve each problem. The work also involved
operational characteristics of intersections and/or segments of arterials, conducting field reviews,
collecting data, observations of the operation, assembling crash data, performing engineering analysis
and associated benefit/cost analyses of various alternatives.
Holmberg Road Extension Traffic Analysis, City of Parkland, Parkland, FL
Sal Pagliara, Mayor, Harry Mertz, Mayor&Charles DaBrusco, P.E., Senior Engineer
6600 University Drive
Parkland, FL 33067
(954) 757-4132
Performed study for City of Parkland that analyzed the proposed extension of Holmberg Road from its
terminus at that time (adjacent to Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School) to Nob Hill Road. We
1 analyzed existing traffic volumes and levels of service on Holmberg Road and relevant parallel
facilities. Future conditions were evaluated utilizing Broward County's Urban Model. Eight different
Holmberg Road laneage/alignment alternatives were evaluated, with the conclusion that the City's
preferred alternative would adequately accommodate projected traffic demand, with the
implementation of other necessary infrastructure. The study also concluded that with the
implementation of all planned roadways within the City to their ultimate cross-section, that the
existing two-lane cross-section on Holmberg Road in the eastern area of the City would be adequate to
accommodate future demand.
Citywide Traffic Calming Study, City of Lighthouse Point, Lighthouse Point, FL
John D. Lavisky, City Administrator
2200 NE 38th Street Y
Lighthouse Point, FL Z• `*
(954) 784-3434a
Provided overall contract oversight for the transportation study
and the development of a Citywide Traffic Calming Plan. The ,
plan included windshield surveys, review of existing traffic data
conceptual design and construction cost estimates. Several 11,
presentations were made to public officials, which resulted in the
City creating a Task Force to implement the plan.
cMcMAHON
2-5
