This building <br /> also features student lounges, recreational areas and laundry facilities, with each <br /> student module having a kitchen and individual air conditioning control. JALRW provided <br /> engineering services related to the Mechanical and Electrical Systems Upgrades, <br /> including demolition, to comply with MDAD Guidelines and Life Safety Master <br /> Plan. <br /> The Systems Design highlights include the replacement of the Mechanical <br /> Penthouses and Central Air Handling Units, with new, large built-up type Air <br /> Handler Systems, serving areas ranging from 100,000 to 135,000 square feet, <br /> Smoke Control Systems, including Stairwells and Elevator Shaft Pressurization, <br /> Fully Automatic Building Management Systems, new Normal and Standby Power <br /> Distribution Systems, Energy Efficient Design, Fire Alarm Systems, Public Address <br /> Systems, Access Control Systems and Telephone/Data Systems.
