Civil/Environmental Engineering 13-13 <br /> 1 <br /> I <br /> W.Mark Henry Wetland Creation and Monitoring, North Miami, FL. Mr. Henry is assisting the City of <br /> Environmental Assessments North Miami with a wetland mitigation project. Prepared planting plans for approval by the <br /> overseeing governmental agencies and conducted oversight during the construction phase of <br /> the project. This phase included removal of exotic vegetation, excavation of the site to proper <br /> planting elevation, removal and disposal of solid waste encountered, and planting the site with <br /> the approved plant list. Conducted maintenance and monitoring of the site for two years after <br /> construction completion. Reports are prepared semi-annually and submitted to the overseeing <br /> agencies. <br /> Maintenance Facility Spill Prevention Plan Assessment, Miami-Dade Transit(MDT), <br /> Miami, FL. Mr. Henry conducted site visits of MDT train and bus maintenance facilities to assess <br /> spill prevention measures and best management practices. Chemical storage and handling areas <br /> were inventoried, and ways to minimize discharges of hazardous materials to the environment <br /> were evaluated. The vehicle maintenance areas were also evaluated for safe handling of <br /> hazardous materials and adequate spill prevention and cleanup procedures. <br /> SR 836 Expansion, Miami-Dade Expressway Authority(MDX), Miami, FL. Mr. Henry <br /> assisted in the contamination screening and evaluation of the SR 836 multimodal corridor <br /> study. Performed delineation and flagging of wetlands along the SR 836 corridor from NW <br /> 42nd Avenue to NW 57th Avenue and on a 47-acre out-parcel west of Florida's Turnpike. Flora/ <br /> flora diversity assessments were also performed in both study areas. The out-parcel project also <br /> involved an informal consultation with SFWMD and Miami-Dade County DERM. <br /> South Florida Regional Transportation Authority(SFRTA), Miami, FL. Mr. Henry <br /> conducted Phase I ESAs for environmental clearances on proposed and existing commuter <br /> rail facilities. Performed environmental oversight during the rehabilitation of the former Hertz <br /> car rental facility at Miami International Airport(MIA). The oversight continued through the <br /> construction of the new SFRTA station at the site. <br /> Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP)-8-Square-Mile Area. Mr. Henry <br /> derived cure plans for selected properties in the southwest Miami-Dade County community that <br /> has the potential of being flooded as a result of the implementation of components of CERP. <br /> The cure plans outlined costs associated with the demolition and replacement of all on-site <br /> structures including houses, sheds, and septic and water systems.
