He has been responsible for design <br /> Indiana 80900013, 1990 and project management on a broad range of land planning, park master planning, educational <br /> facilities, sports facilities and community involvement. He has extensive experience leading <br /> Professional Affiliations multi-disciplinary project teams. Mr. Rohrer provided master planning services for this <br /> 152-acre passive regional park, located on the shores of East Lake Toho. A master plan was <br /> initiated to assist in the planning and phasing of improvements and new park amenities. <br /> Improvements to the park include parking, boating access, hiking/biking trails, horseback riding <br /> trails, picnic and playground areas, outdoor education space for scouting/nature activities, <br /> outdoor amphitheater for events, a dog park, improved site drainage, and environmental <br /> e features to improve water quality and habitat. <br /> Ivy Creek Trail, Gwinnett County, GA. Project manager for the Ivy Creek Trail for Atkins <br /> Planning and Landscape Architecture. Team members include county park professionals, survey, <br /> structural and civil engineers, and ecologists. Various trail alignment options were assessed by <br /> the design team in terms of mitigating impacts to the environment and wetland areas while <br /> creating a safe and diverse visitor experience. Objectives of the alignment included reducing or <br /> eliminating vehicle/pedestrian crossings and reducing the number of bridged stream crossings <br /> to accomplish the connections between the park and the new trail connection near 1-985. <br /> Abernathy Road Linear Park, Sandy Springs GA. Senior Planner. The City of Sandy Springs <br /> selected Atkins for the Abernathy Road Linear Greenspace Park. This highly visible project on <br /> both sides of Abernathy Road extends from the Chattahoochee River at Johnson Ferry eastward <br /> to Roswell Road. The first phase is over 20 acres and proposes naturalizing landscapes, <br /> walkways and trails, large open meadows, sculpture gardens, an education/interpretive center, <br /> southern-style gardens, and stream enhancement. <br /> Briar Creek Greenway Trail, Charlotte, NC. Provided project management on the <br /> construction document phase of Briar Creek Greenway Trail project. The multi-use trail is 10 <br /> feet wide and approximately 3,700 linear feet from Meadowbrook Road to Randolph Road in <br /> Charlotte, North Carolina. Scheduled to be completed in 2010, the greenway trail will connect <br /> surrounding neighborhoods to the Mint Museum. The greenway trail includes a concrete trail, <br /> retaining walls, and pedestrian bridge. <br /> St. Simons Island Village Master Plan, Glynn County, GA. Project manager for the <br /> Village on St. Simons Island. Neptune Park truly is the heart of St. Simons Island. It is bounded <br /> by the village to the north and west, the Historic Light House and Museum to the east and <br /> the Pier and Atlantic Ocean to the south. Through the visioning process, Atkins helped bring <br /> 1 the community together to define a consensus-based, unified vision for the park utilizing a <br /> participatory workshop planning approach.
