He has two years of landscape design experience involving <br /> commercial development of retail space and offices; urban renewal projects; government <br /> facilities design; transit projects; streetscape designs; and highway landscape, as well as the <br /> layout and design of parks and recreational facilities, and greenway and trail systems. Mr. <br /> Keese's current general responsibilities with Atkins include: <br /> • Produces schematic and working drawings of residential, recreational, commercial, or <br /> industrial site projects for in-house review. <br /> • Researches feasibility of alternative design approaches, based upon client's specifications, <br /> site conditions, government specifications or regulations, for incorporation into layout. <br /> • Determines existing site conditions and prepares site analysis studies. <br /> • Designs and draws conceptual plans for site layout, planting and grading, for review by <br /> senior landscape architect. <br /> • Prepares preliminary construction cost estimates. <br /> • Assists in the coordination of design plans with other disciplines. <br /> • Observes construction projects to determine if landscape work is followed according to <br /> plans and specifications. <br /> • Consults vendors for updating research library or obtaining material samples and/or <br /> technical literature. <br /> ' Mr. Keese's Atkins project experience includes/included: <br /> Coconut Creek Parkway Educational Corridor Sense of Place Design Services, Coconut <br /> Creek, FL. Landscape designer responsible for developing the initial design concept, overall <br /> ' plant selection and palette, and creating visual aides to illustrate the proposed designs and <br /> alternatives. This project involved providing engineering and landscape architecture services <br /> for this multimodal, transit-oriented corridor. The scope of work involved road realignment, <br /> establishment of medians for function and beautification, shared use pedestrian and bicycle <br /> paths, and transit upgrades. The Coconut Creek Educational Corridor was chosen as one of <br /> only three corridors in Broward County to serve as a model for the Broward County-initiated <br /> Sense of Place project. Sense of Place is a Broward County initiative to create a countywide <br /> ' design guidebook that promotes and implements design guidelines to create pedestrian friendly <br /> spaces and public transit, taking into consideration the distinctive character of each city within <br /> the county. <br /> SR 5 (US 1) Rehabilitation Design Services, Vero Beach, Florida (FDOT District <br /> Four). Landscape designer responsible for working on the planting design and aiding in the <br /> development of the hardscape details of pavement patterns and layout as well as the custom <br /> tree grate and frame design and layout. This project involved milling and resurfacing of 1.431 <br /> miles of SR 5(US 1) in Vero Beach, Florida. Design services were provided for improvements that <br /> included replacing the strain pole assembly at 23rd Street with mast arms and installing a new <br /> signal at 10th Avenue; signal interconnect; providing upgrades for Americans with Disabilities <br /> Act(ADA)compliance; upgrading the guardrail connection to the bridge over the Main Relief <br /> Canal; providing new signing and pavement markings; and landscaping. <br /> 0006.027944.0512 Atkins I City of Sunny Isles Beach, RFQ No. 12-04-02 <br />
