a a ® APPROACH I METHODOLOGY ® SAVINO & MILLER DESIGN STUDIO is committed to a collaborative approach to planning and design. We ® understand the importance of teamwork and effective communication in delivering a successful project, as ® well as the need to coordinate with the project stakeholders, who will live with the results. ® Our background and experience in landscape architecture, urban design, architecture and planning give ® us a unique insight into the various elements and forces, which shape our urban environment. Our method includes an analysis of factors such as climate, physical and socio-cultural context, aesthetics and long term ® maintenance. In our view, our job is not a matter of adding paving, planting and lighting but instead is the art of 'making places'. In so doing, these places can become a source of pride to our neighborhoods and ® communities. We believe the issue of building consensus is especially important when dealing with city streetscapes and ® public spaces. We feel, in the urban environment, spaces should reflect people's wishes and desires and at the same time should reflect the nature of the area. Our job is to define and increase the identity of the ® place. The degree to which a city fulfills these innate desires measures its livability. We strive to create, in our public landscapes, a more livable city. ® Team Organization ® Our strategy is simple. Select the most highly-qualified consultants with extensive experience and proven performance to create, solve and enhance the Landscape Environment in the City of Sunny Isles and assist ® in the re-discovery of its innate qualities that will make it into a successful and unique center for residential, ® business and community activities. ® Our team members have been selected to fit within this process framework: a landscape architectural firm ® — SMDS, supported by an Horticulturist, an Irrigation Designer and a Surveyor will help us in providing the ® City the most professional Landscape Architectural Services. We believe that this team is capable of meeting ® and exceeding all the requirements of the RFQ. ® As the design process moves forward, it may be necessary to enlist the services of civil, MEP, or traffic ® engineers to assist the core consultant team described above. In that event, we believe that these services can be provided by the Engineers selected by the City in their rotational list. 0 Base Services Requested ® We understand that what the City of Sunny Isles needs a trusted Landscape Architectural team sensitive to the unique qualities of the City and with the ability to deliver successfully the following types of Services: ® Site Master Plans ® Site Master planning is one of the strengths of Savino & Miller Design Studio. Our Homestead Bayfront Park project which won the Award of Excellence in Landscape Architecture by the American Planning Association ® Gold Coast Section is one of the proofs of that. Because of our multidisciplinary approach and understanding of the different issues that affect site master ® planning we have been fortunate to participate as master planners in many projects. Some examples include: Sunny Isles City Hall where the Tony Roma's site was incorporated into the City Hall Complex plans; The 0 Miami Beach Multi-modal facility which integrates the site of the City Hall with a garage and an office build- ing into a beautiful plaza and streetscape design; The Costa D'Este Hotel in Vero Beach for Gloria & Emilio Estefan.
