Our team also has the expertise to provide you with the services related to wastewater
e infrastructure, including pump station design, force main systems, gravity systems, Ill studies, and mapping of
sewer systems on GIS. Our services routinely include designing under strict regulatory compliance conditions,
® coordinating with existing utilities to avoid underground conflicts, and integrating with existing on-site systems.
®
Kimley-Horn recently provided a force main route evaluation report, design services, and permitting for the
installation of over 13,000 linear feet of new 16-inch force main that included three horizontal directional drills
• (HDD) for the City of North Bay Village. The new force main eliminated the need for North Bay Village to
® repump wastewater through the City of Miami Beach and provided a direct connection to the Miami-Dade
Water and Sewer Department wastewater system. Kimley-Horn provided design-build drawings, hydraulic
e modeling, "front end" documents, and associated opinions of probable construction costs. Kimley-Horn also
• obtained the necessary environmental permits through the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and
® the Army Corp of Engineers (ACOE) for the HDD's. The project was submitted to the State and approved for
over 3.5 million dollars of grant funding through American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). Kimley-
• Horn also provided construction documents and permitting documentation for the rehabilitation of main
e wastewater pump stations for the City of North Bay Village and the Town of Bay Harbor Islands. Both projects
® included analyzing the existing pumping and control equipment to develop a rehabilitation approach to
increase system efficiency, reduce system maintenance, and provide a reliable, redundant pump station to
• better serve the municipalities.
® We have also provided a hydraulic analysis of Martin
e County's entire wastewater system with over 200 miles of ;
• gravity sewer, several thousand manholes, and over 50
miles of force mains. This included analyzing hydraulic
e capacity of the force main system, understanding the •.J; - - • I ,
e operation of lift stations, and evaluating growth areas •G• :: :;)
e within the system. Project components include establishing i
the current and future demands, lift station run time hours, -, I_• ‘.4 -\
and pump curve data. Our depth of resources means
 - `„
e that you will benefit from experienced professionals who I
® practice civil engineering for municipalities every day. At m+r . .:&1 ', .
Kimley-Horn, we have the in-house capabilities to provide
e you with any civil engineering need you may have.
0
e Permit Agency Coordination
e The firm's engineers and planners maintain regular contact with virtually all key regulatory agencies and their
e decision makers.
