® Mike Kiefer
Page 2
® Representative Experience (continued)
® dredge portions of the water and support during the bidding process. KHA provided construction phase
® services in terms of permit compliance. This project required permits through the U.S. Army Corps of
Engineers, South Florida Water Management District, and Broward County Department of Environmental
8 Management.
® Northern Palm Beach Improvement District Pump Station, Palm Beach County, FL— Responsible for
0 environmental services and permitting. This project consisted of the demolition of an existing stormwater
® pump station and the construction of a new pump station adjacent to the previous location. Conducted an
® environmental assessment of this site and prepared permit documentation including mitigation design to
restore the littoral area. Responsible for permitting the project through the SFWMD and USACE.
® PGA National South Pump Station, Palm Beach Gardens, FL— Served as environmental scientist for the
design and permitting of this stormwater pumping station for the Northern Palm Beach County Improvement
• District. This project consisted of the complete replacement of the existing pump station with a new single
story building, electrical and mechanical systems and a three-bay garage for mobile generator storage. A
new pump bay and wetwell were designed along with associated intake and discharge piping and a rip rap
® plunge pool. To increase the reliability of the station, the design included redundant 35,000 GPM electrical
® submersible pumps each rated at 200 horsepower along with a 250kW emergency generator. The project
® required permitting approvals from seven different entities that included the City of Palm Beach Gardens,
® PGA Property Owners Association, South Florida Water Management District, United States Army Corps
of Engineers, Seacoast Utility Authority, Palm Beach County Health Department and Palm Beach County
• Environmental Resource Management Fuel Tank Section. Wetland impacts were mitigated through the
® design of a new littoral area where the existing station, which is scheduled for demolition, is currently located.
Construction is expected to begin in March 2012.
® Boynton Beach Boulevard Extension and Promenade, Boynton Beach, FL— Responsible for environmental
services for the extension of Boynton Beach Boulevard to the Intracoastal Waterway and the creation of a
® boardwalk along the water. The KHA team was involved in the planning, design, coordination, and plans
• production of this streetscape project funded by the City of Boynton Beach Community Redevelopment
Agency (CRA). Unique aspects of the project include extensive environmental permitting, utility coordination
® for future development, and traffic calming measures. Included in the scope of work were the design of
® the roadway, utilities (including water, sewer, drainage, and electric), the layout and design of a 500-foot
® promenade/boardwalk, and 1,300 feet of riverwalk in the Intracoastal. This was a part of a redevelopment
effort by the CRA to improve the City's waterfront.
0
Lake Worth Beach Redevelopment, Lake Worth, FL— Served as project engineer on the Kimley-Horn team
that assisted the City of Lake Worth in developing design criteria and site plan alternatives the redevelopment
• of its public beach, including its park. Also responsible for negotiating and obtaining approvals from FDEP
® and FWC regarding lighting and minimization of potential sea turtle impacts resulting from the redevelopment.
® Provided ERP and CCCL permitting services for the redevelopment of the park. Proposed improvements
include boardwalks, parking lots, roads, utility and drainage infrastructure, walkways, landscaping, street
® furnishings, pavilions, beach lockers, playground equipment, lighting, restrooms, and other site amenities. Our
team also assisted the City in negotiating a new interlocal agreement with Palm Beach County to secure up to
$5 million in funding for the public improvements.
0
® RFC No.12-0.{02 ren Kimley-Horn
0Y260015.121 sunny nes CMrn
Evoememzl Eng Resumes.udd \ , and Associates.Inc.
3-34
