Russo, City Manager <br /> FROM: Elka Linton-Dorsett, Capital Projects Manager <br /> DATE: 1/21/2016 <br /> Resolution Approving 1st Amendment to a Contract with <br /> RE: Ric-Man International, Inc. for the Design and <br /> Construction Gateway Park Pedestrian Bridge <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Staff is recommending the City Commission approve the attached <br /> resolution. <br /> REASONS: <br /> Resolution 2014-2277 granted authorization for the City Manager to <br /> negotiate a contract with Ric-Man International Inc for the award of RFP <br /> 13-08-01, which related solely to the design and construction of a <br /> Pedestrian Bridge at Gateway Park. A Design-Build contract was made <br /> and entered into between the City and Ric-Man International, Inc. on <br /> December 14th, 2014 for a Guaranteed Maximum Price of $2.1M. The <br /> attached amendment no. 1 requests both an increase in the contractual <br /> Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP)and an extension of the allotted time <br /> frame. <br /> Pursuant to the terms of the Agreement, the Contractor was allotted a <br /> maximum of 75-days from conceptual design approval to submit for <br /> permits, and 90-days thereafter to start construction. The Notice-to- <br /> Proceed for the project was issued on January 14th, 2015. The permit <br /> process for the bridge involves various agencies outside the City <br /> jurisdiction.
