CITIZENS' FORUM: REQUESTS, PETITIONS & OTHER COMMUNICATIONS
13A. Ingrid Lehner said she is here tonight on behalf of the cats in Samson Oceanfront Park.
She has been feeding these cats now for about 12 years. The Park is being renovated and she
was asked in September to relocate the feeding place for these cats. She kept asking how the
Park was going to look like, where to put them, and she could never get a straight answer.
Two days ago the fence went up around the Park and she has not been able to get into the
Park to feed the cats. She found one of the workers from the construction company and he
had an idea to make a pedestrian gate to the south end of the fence toward the beach because
the cats are in the dune, and she could get in to feed the cats. Unfortunately this idea was
turned down by Susan Simpson, and ever since she has been trying to find a solution. The
cats will go eat maybe in another place and then they go back into the dunes all day long and
so they are locked in any ways. Right now the cats are locked in.
27
