Varadero <br />Traffic Study <br /> <br />Page 3 <br />Analysis Scenarios <br />The analysis scenarios for this study are as follows: <br />• Existing year <br />• Project build-out year (2017) without project trips (background traffic) <br />• Project build-out year (2017) with project trips (total traffic) <br /> <br />Data Collection <br /> <br />• Vehicle turning movement counts were collected during the AM (7– 9) and PM (4 – 6) <br />peak hour conditions of a regular weekday. <br /> <br />• Collected counts were adjusted to reflect AM and PM peak hour peak season conditions <br />for the intersection analysis. The traffic volumes were adjusted by applying the <br />corresponding peak season conversion factors obtained from the latest Florida Department <br />of Transportation (FDOT) Peak Season Factor Category Report. <br /> <br />• Field reviews were performed to obtain existing physical and operating characteristics of <br />the roadway network within the study area. Data to be acquired will include the number <br />and type of traffic lanes, intersection geometrics, signal timings, speed limit information, <br />and other appropriate physical and operating characteristics. <br /> <br />• Roadway improvements included within the first three years of the five‐year FDOT <br />Work Program or roadway improvements identified by the city of Sunny Isles Beach were <br />assumed as committed for analysis purposes. <br /> <br />Existing Conditions Intersection Capacity Analysis <br /> <br />• Intersection capacity analyses were evaluated for the study area intersections using the <br />Synchro software. All input files will be provided for review purposes. <br /> <br />
