City of Sunny Isles Beach <br /> 2016 10-Year WSP GOPs <br /> First Reading January 21, 2016 <br /> Adoption: April 21, 2016 <br /> Amendment No. 3 <br /> The following lists the Objectives and Policies included in the City's adopted <br /> Comprehensive Plan to ensure consistency between the elements in the Plan and the <br /> 2016 10-Year Water Supply Facilities Work Plan Update. <br /> The following revisions to this Element are recommended. Recommended additions are <br /> denoted by underline; deletions by ctrikethrough. Changes highlighted in yellow are <br /> based on agency comments after First Reading. <br /> Intergovernmental Coordination Element <br /> Policy 3U: The City shall coordinate the planning of potable water and sanitary sewer <br /> facilities, water supply sources, demands, other services and level-of- <br /> service standards with the North Miami Beach Utility, Miami-Dade County <br /> WASD, Miami-Dade County Department of Environmental Resource:, <br /> Management Regulatory and Economic Resources, South Florida Water <br /> Management District, and through the 2013 Lower East Coast Water Supply <br /> Plan Update, as necessary. <br /> Policy 3Y: The City will coordinate with the South Florida Water Management District <br /> concerning its jurisdictional authority as necessary and support its efforts <br /> concerning the 2013 Lower East Coast Water Supply Plan Update, <br /> ACCELER8 Everglades and CERP and the Biscayne Bay Coastal <br /> Wetlands Project to protect an Outstanding Florida Water— Biscayne Bay. <br /> Objective 5: Support climate change and sea level rise initiatives. <br /> Policy 45k Support the M-D Water and Sewer Department and South Florida Water <br /> Management District in any efforts to evaluate the consequences of sea <br /> level rise, changing rainfall and storm patterns, temperature effects, and <br /> cumulative impacts to existing structures and existing legal uses. <br /> Policy 258 : Participate in the Southeast Florida Regional Climate Change Compact to <br /> support regional planning efforts and initiatives to adapt to rising sea level <br /> in the LEC Planning Area. <br /> Policy 35C: Work collaboratively with the NMB Utility, M-D Water and Sewer <br /> Department, other utilities and South Florida Water Management District to <br /> identify the utility wellfields and other users at potential risk of saltwater <br /> intrusion within the LEC Planning Area. <br /> Monitoring Measure: The City may enact legislation supporting the efforts of the <br /> MDWASD and SFWMD to evaluate climate change and its impacts. <br /> 5 <br />
