BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (Include scope, size, and cost) <br /> <br />. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />The project goal is to reconfigure the Flagler Street from NW 2nd Ave to Biscayne Blvd, to provide wider sidewalks, <br />selective parallel parking/loading areas, grading/drainage improvements, and landscape and hardscape <br />enhancements commensurate with a vibrant downtown commercial area. The goal for these improvements is to <br />provide areas for outdoor cafes, together with unified furnishings, lighting and landscape to enhance the visitor <br />experience of the area. Flagler’s long historic significance has been taken into consideration in the planning and <br />design of these improvements. <br /> <br />Given that Flagler is the considered the City of Miami’s “main street”, many parties are involved in the planning <br />and implementation of the project. The project is being managed by the City of Miami’s Capital Improvements <br />Division (CIP), working in conjunction with the Downtown Development Authority (DDA), specifically with the <br />Flagler Street Steering Committee.
