Landscape Architect Services RFQ No. 16-04-02 9-5
Su
b
c
o
n
s
u
l
t
a
n
t
s
Hispanic-owned Companies in the United States”. Additionally, we have been recognized by the Greater Miami
Chamber of Commerce in Florida as “One of the 100th Largest Hispanic Business Enterprises in Miami-Dade
County”.
CPZ Architects, Inc. was founded in 2002 and has over thirteen (13) years of doing business in in the tri-county
area providing architectural service for various municipalities. As a diverse architectural practice,
our offi ce completes many new and renovation projects each year. Their team designs
renovations and new facilities for parks, fi re stations, police stations, childcare centers,
businesses, banks, community centers, and more. They provide complete services for these new/
renovation projects from schematic design through bidding and construction administration.
CPZ Architects, Inc. has a large amount of both governmental and commercial experience in
all building types. They are a local CBE fi rm with a staff of 9 employees, 2 of which are registered Architects.
They also have on our staff a licensed Interior Designer, 2 LEED AP professionals, one of which is also LEED
BD&C certifi ed. Assisting with our various projects are 2 Project Managers/Architectural Designers and 4 Intern
Architects who are all skilled in both CADD and Revit. Our Offi ce Manager does all the administrative duties.
Their Firm President has practiced Architecture in Broward County for over 35 years. As the Senior Architect for
the City of Fort Lauderdale (1986 to 1996, 10 years), he was the author of the fi rst Design/Build Criteria Package
for the City. He has been continuing to assist other governmental agencies in their architectural needs ever
since. As such, he is very familiar with the unique governmental requirements regarding the Florida Statutes and
what is required in a criteria package for a successful project.
Their offi ce uses both AutoCAD 2016 and Revit 2016. They can provide drawings in AutoCAD format saved down
to the release currently licensed by the city. Documents are provided to our clients in print, and digital format be
it on line or via compact discs. Their offi ce uses the Microsoft offi ce suite of products and produces all of their
specifi cation documents in the current version of word.
CPZ Architects was retained by the City of Miami Gardens to take over the completion of their $14 million,
60,000 SF Community Center after the original Architect was removed by the city as result of problems. The
project was under construction when their fi rm took over and there were several items that had to be resolved
and redesigned at the same time as not to delay construction. As such there were a number of change orders to
meet code requirements and address construction concerns.
CPZ Architects’ staff includes Jayson Hall, who managed the Miami Gardens Community Center from start to
completion. He is also currently the Project Manager for the City of Miramar Amphitheater in the Regional Park
and the Senior Center for the City of Sunrise. The knowledge he has gained, will be of great benefi t to your
projects. As a testament to his ability, after completing the Public Safety Complex in Coral Springs, the City has
requested that he be assigned to all future City projects.
The fi rm’s motto is “Design Quality Architecture that Builds Lasting Relationships”. As such, over the past 13
years they have been awarded over 15 continuing services contracts with local Municipalities. All of them are still
active and have always been renewed. Two of their contracts have been ongoing for over 10 years.
