21 | P a g e <br />RFQ #16-06-01 Shoreline Surveying & Mapping Consulting Services <br />system at a 400 kHz frequency on the SeaArk with a POS-mv for heave, pitch, roll corrections and RTK GPS <br />positioning. <br /> <br />Submerged Utility Location at FEC Railroad Bridges, Stuart and Jupiter, Florida <br />Land & Sea Surveying worked with the utility company to locate and mark their submerged lines at the <br />railroad bridges in preparation of repairs on the bridge. Using the land side access points, we energize one <br />end of the tracing wire with a ground at the other end to send tone along the wire. A sensor is carried <br />onboard the survey vessel to detect the resultant electromagnetic field. We waymark the location of the <br />return of the AC signal to the sensor with the hydrographic and GPS systems, crossing the pipeline from <br />both directions for redundancy.
