B.1 Introduction

Managing changes and unforeseen challenges (what is the impact of this change or challenge?)
The monitoring and controlling process group ends once the project has achieved its goals and
objectives as detailed in the scope of services.
The status of all projects will be reported to the Corps on a weekly basis.
5. Closing
Closing a project means finishing all activities across all process groups and signing off the project with
the City. At this point it is important to know how well the project has performed. The Project Manager
completes a project closure evaluation and communicates how well the project was performed against
its original business case, quality measures, cost, duration and tolerances. Observations are used to aid
in the planning, execution, and monitoring of future projects.

Quality Control / Quality Assurance Procedures

Degrove performs project controls and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) at multiple levels as
part of the natural progress of work. Degrove puts in place QA/QC procedures that are tailored to fit
each specific project and are identified and documented as part of the project scope and the project
plan. While the specific details of these plans vary with each project, Degrove does maintain overall
QA/QC procedures, which are described in this section.
1. Project Team Kickoff Meetings
Degrove takes the stance that the best QA/QC procedures begin prior to the commencement of any
project work being completed. Upon appointing the project team, the Project Manager holds
meeting(s) with all involved team members. Through these meeting(s), the Project Manager reviews
the project‐specific scope, timeline, approach and methods, and individual duties of team members.
The Project Manager also listens to other team members’ ideas and suggestions, and ensures each team
member attains a full and proper understanding of the project goals, procedures, and his/her
responsibilities within the project team.
2. Field QA/QC Checks and Procedures
Each field crew is given clear instructions as to project‐specific methods for achieving the required
survey data. It is the responsibility of the Project Manager to ensure that these procedures are followed
and documented by the Field Crew Chief. Any unique challenges or situations in the field are
immediately communicated by the Field Crew Chief to the Project Manager who will ensure that the
proper adjustments are made and that if necessary the District is informed. It is also the responsibility
of the Project Manager to ensure that the Field Crew Chief achieves the following QA/QC procedures
and checks while in the field:
Perform all necessary equipment calibrations.
