Environmental aspects of the <br />project included removal and transplantation of corals in the work footprint <br />Hangar AF Wharf Repair, NASA - Assisted in bidding, planning and purchasing. Developed and utilized <br />specialty high strength concrete mixes for slabs, pilecaps and underwater tremie and pumping. Onsite <br />duties included quality control and supervision of concrete work and grout injection. <br />Elpis/Maitland Reef Restoration Prosect, Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, 199.5 — Assisted in <br />bidding, project planning and purchasing. Served as quality control representative to the USACE <br />responsible for construction of concrete reef restoration modules. This was accomplished ahead of time <br />and incorporated design changes which resulted in a more natural appearance. Responsible for final mix <br />design and production of special tremie concrete, provided dive support for most operations on this <br />project, operated crew boats and supervised surface supplied and scuba dive teams on project tasks. <br />Sites were cleared of displaced and damaged corals which were cached nearby and subsequently <br />reattached at the grounding locations. <br />Delray Ocean Outfall Repairs, FL - Diving and surface support including locating and marking mooring <br />locations in reef areas, relocation of corals in work area, placing precast concrete erosion control mats, <br />barge mooring and pipeline repair. <br />North Soca Reef Restoration, 1989- Provided 22 days of volunteer dive support for reattachment of <br />hundreds of corals over a 3 month period. Received training from Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary <br />staff in what was then a groundbreaking restoration technique. Worked in conjunction with Carman Vare, <br />Palm beach ERM, Dr. Ray McAllister, FAU Dept. of Ocean Engineering, and Dr. Harold Hudson, FI.
