MCMM&CREED
Fields of Specialization
UAS Mapping
LiDAR
Photogrammetry
Quality Control
Geographic Information Technology
Education
M.A., Geographic Information,
Northwestern University
Professional Licensure
Certified Photogrammetrist, ASPRS
Christian Stallings, CP
UAS & Aerial LiDAR Specialist
Summary
Mr. Stallings is a forward -thinking and inventive problem solver who has extensive
knowledge of remote sensing collection requirements and how to tailor solutions to
meet client needs. He holds a master's in geographic information technology and a
graduate certificate in remote sensing from Northwestern University, and an
extensive instruction in advanced LiDAR data processing and advanced production
workflow from Penn State. Mr. Stallings was instrumental in the development of a
successful aerial acquisitions department for a national surveying and mapping firm,
and is responsible for overseeing LiDAR production operations. This includes
training staff on all aspects of LiDAR flight operations, flight planning, calibration
and production, and personally leading process improvements and quality
assurance. Mr. Stallings' responsibilities include technical oversight and
management of data acquisition and processing phases, as well as management of
all QC processes associated with acquisition and production. Having presented at
various professional conferences and webinars, Mr. Stallings is also an industry -
recognized expert in the use of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) for surveying and
mapping.
Selected Project Experience
Sea Bright to Manasquan PS Survey, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - New York
District, Sea Bright, NJ: A combination of data collection methods and diverse
remote sensing technologies were used to conduct existing condition beach and
groin surveys along a four -mile stretch of beach devastated by Hurricane Sandy. By
blending conventional, hydrographic and airborne LiDAR techniques, McKim &
Creed mapped 145 beach profiles and performed detailed topographic surveys
above and below the water surface for 29 stone groins and revetments. This project
supports the repair and restoration of the largest beachfill project ever, by volume,
and helps USACE return the beaches to their pre -storm condition and restore them
to their full, original design level of protection. McKim & Creed and The New York
District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers received the Grand Engineering Excellence
Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies of North Carolina
(ACEC/NC) for their work on this project.
Distribution System Vegetation Management Study, Florida Power & Light (FPL),
Miami -Dade and Putnam Counties, FL: Mr. Stallings served as survey project
manager for conducting an herbicide LiDAR survey project. This project consisted of
collecting, processing and analyzing aerial LiDAR and imagery to determine areas
where herbicide application is required within various transmission line corridors.
Florida Power & Light 1,694 miles, Florida Power & Light (FP&L), Eastern Coast
Line, FL: McKim & Creed provided aerial LiDAR services for this project.
