Summary Minutes:Regular City Commission Meeting May 19,2016 City of Sunny Isles Beach,Florida <br /> 10G. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach,Florida,Approving <br /> an Agreement with Presidio Networked Solutions,Inc.to Provide Hardware,Network <br /> Infrastructure Design Services and Upgrade Services for the City's Phone System,in a <br /> Total Amount Not to Exceed$203,027.31, in Substantially the Same Form Attached Hereto <br /> as Exhibit "A"; Authorizing the Mayor to Execute Said Agreement; Authorizing the City <br /> Manager to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this Resolution; Providing for an <br /> Effective Date. <br /> Action:City Clerk Hines read the title,and Chief Information Officer Derrick Arias reported <br /> this is for the long awaited upgrade of our phone system covering all of our facilities. We <br /> will be doing a complete infrastructure upgrade on the phone system and the network <br /> providing connectivity for all of those devices as well as all the phones. <br /> Public Speakers: None <br /> Mayor Scholl asked about the timing, and Derrick said it should be done in mid-summer. <br /> Commissioner Aelion moved and Vice Mayor Gatto seconded a motion to approve the <br /> resolution. Resolution No. 2016-2554 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. <br /> 10H. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Awarding <br /> Bid No. 16-04-01 to and Authorizing the City Manager to Negotiate and Enter into an <br /> Agreement with Southern Underground Industries, Inc. for 172"d Street Drainage <br /> Improvements, in an Amount Not to Exceed $1,063,306.25, Provided Said Agreement is <br /> Approved as to Form and Legal Sufficiency by the City Attorney; Authorizing the City <br /> Manager and the City Attorney to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this Resolution; <br /> Providing for an Effective Date. <br /> Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and Capital Projects Manager Elka Linton-Dorsett <br /> reported over the last two years the City has implemented a program of televising and <br /> cleaning out the existing drainage lines. In doing so we were able to identify multiple points <br /> of failure and deficiency in the existing drainage along 172"d Street. In response to that we <br /> established a Capital Program within the budget which we publicly bid. We had one <br /> response to that bid which was Southern Underground Industries who also happens to be the <br /> City's small project contractor. The bid amount is a little less than$1.1 Million Dollars. The <br /> intent of that work is to repair the existing system, there will be a point excavation and in <br /> some instances we are adding new lines to facilitate the bridge. <br /> Public Speakers: None <br /> Commissioner Aelion asked if this drainage improvement is long term, and Ms. Linton- <br /> Dorsett said yes it is. Commissioner Aelion asked if a developer buys the Salem House and <br /> redevelops it, will it affect the drainage system, will we have to revisit it? Ms. Linton- <br /> Dorsett said private property requires their drainage on site and so regardless of what <br /> happens within private property, it does not impact the street drainage. <br /> City Attorney Ottinot said if this Resolution is approved, the City Manager will negotiate a <br /> final price in order to expedite the project. City Manager Russo said the amount needs to be <br /> put in here, and Ms. Linton-Dorsett said the exact amount is not to exceed $1,063,306.25 <br /> 9 <br />
