It <br />provides the Division of Emergency Management a coordinating point for the effective management of local <br />emergencies to catastrophic events in and around St. Lucie County. Recovery planning and financial <br />assistance from the State of Florida and FEMA are established through the Division’s emergency operations <br />center. The facility is a nuclear protected complex, designed to allow emergency communications and <br />operations to continue functioning in the event of a natural or man-made disaster. <br />The landscape design approach was to develop a plant palette that was drought tolerant and low <br />maintenance with an emphasis on utilizing native plant material. <br />25.
