CRAVEN THOMPSON & ASSOCIATES, INC. | 3563 NW 53rd STREET, FORT LAUDERDALE, FL 33309 | P 954.739.6400
TAB 4 - BACKGROUND AND ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH - REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS NO. 16-06-02

PRIMARY MARKETS SERVED
Master Planning/Landscape Architecture
The Landscape Architecture Department at CTA was created in 1985 when its first Registered
Landscape Architect joined the team. The Landscape Architecture department was created in
response to increased public and private concern for natural systems, environmental quality and
community appearance. CTA has been actively engaged in Landscape Architecture ever since,
resulting in hundreds of impressive master planning and landscape architectural projects in
South Florida. Our Landscape Architects are readily available to provide services to conduct site
planning for the initial conceptual planning stages of a project, as well as the landscape,
hardscape, site amenity and irrigation plans.
Over the years, and through scores of a wide variety
of governmental projects, CTA has gained an
invaluable skill set and extensive experience in
providing quality professional services for an
enormous diversity of projects for a variety of
municipalities. These projects have ranged in size
and complexity from small, single-task assignments to
large, multi-scaled projects involving numerous sub-
consultants and/or specialized services.
CTA was the Landscape Architect for the design of approximately 70 miles of Greenways through
Broward County. These included the C-14 Canal/Cypress Creek Greenway, New River/SR 84
Greenway, Flamingo Road Trail, Dixie Highway/FEC Trail and the Griffin/Orange Drive Greenway.
Our many other projects include master plans, design, permitting and construction services for
streetscapes, median landscaping and hardscape, right-of-way enhancements, active and passive
parks, landscape and hardscape for libraries, community centers, fire stations, city halls, and
many other municipal facilities.
The streetscape projects have involved extensive coordination
with residents, City staff, engineers and grant funding agencies to
bring about the project’s success. There are many components
within the project requiring coordination and community /
stakeholder input that must be carefully coordinated and
programmed into the design and project schedule to meet
expectations. In addition, we design the streetscape elements in
harmony with the existing neighborhood architecture and
accentuate the positive themes of the area.

4 ǀ Page 2
