CRAVEN THOMPSON & ASSOCIATES, INC. | 3563 NW 53rd STREET, FORT LAUDERDALE, FL 33309 | P 954.739.6400
TAB 4 - BACKGROUND AND ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH - REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS NO. 16-06-02

Path Project, Biscayne Boulevard Lighting, & Yacht Club Bridge), for
the City of Oakland Park (NE 5th Avenue, NE 34th Court, and NE 38th
Street), and for the City of Miami Gardens (Resurfacing and ADA
Walk Improvement Project).
We provide Civil Engineering Services for the following types of
projects: Storm Drainage, ADA Sidewalk Considerations, Alternative
Water Quality Design, Roadway Design, Traffic Calming
Enhancements, Domestic Water Distribution, Sanitary Sewer
Collection and Transmission Systems, Utility Relocation
Coordination, Permitting, Utility Investigations, Due Diligence,
Reports and Construction Services. We provide all aspects of Land
Development design, permitting and construction and most
Municipal Capital Improvements.
Surveying
Providing Surveying services has been, and continues
to be, an important portion of CTA’s business. Through
selection and training of personnel and a program to
obtain the best equipment available, we have
developed a skilled and technically equipped Surveying
Department, capable of conducting almost any type of
survey. We are qualified and certified by the State of
Florida, Department of Natural Resources, for both
horizontal and vertical control for Second Order,
accuracy. In addition to conventional boundary
topographic and construction surveys, we have the
experience to provide the latest in 3D Laser Scanning - High Definition Surveying, Geodetic
Control, PLSS Retracement, Hydrographic, Cadastral, Photogrammetric Control, Right-of-Way and
Construction Surveys. We also have personnel and equipment to determine tidal datum’s and
water boundary lines and can provide expert witness testimony. Through the utilization of our
Global Positioning System, 3D Laser Scanner and total stations with state-of-the-art data
collectors, our survey data can be imported into a CADD environment which can be plotted or
transferred to our clients via e-mail or on CD/DVD. Craven Thompson continues to refine and
adapt CADD and GIS to a broad spectrum of uses. This blend of high technology with
personalized service forms the core of every CTA project. CTA’s equipment includes the Hydrolite-
TM for its portability and Hydrographic survey solutions. We find that the use of this product
provides us with flexibility for getting into areas that require smaller more versatile boats and still
provides the accuracy from our Trimble Survey grade receivers. CTA provides leadership in the
surveying industry by providing educational opportunities to its employees and supporting the
Florida Society of Professional Land Surveyors State and Local Chapters. We have had five
Chapter Presidents, three State Presidents and three Directors. Our personnel have served on
numerous committees and have provided Chairmen to twelve major State Committees. CTA is
dedicated to providing quality surveys and is meeting the challenge of today's changing times by
innovative techniques that not only reduce the cost of field and office work, but increase the
accuracy over the methods previously accepted in the industry.
4 ǀ Page 4
