O’LEARY RICHARDS DESIGN ASSOCIATES, INC. 23 <br />Sunny Isles Beach RFQ No. 16-06-02 <br />Landscape Architect Services <br /> <br /> <br />Carlos Somoza has practiced landscape architecture for over 19 years and is an advocate of quality de- <br />sign. Carlos has built a solid reputation as a lead designer and has worked closely with public officials <br />and allied professionals to support all phases of landscape architecture. He recently completed the Pal- <br />metto Bay Municipal Center where he was the lead designer. Kevin Richards has over 18 years of expe- <br />rience in construction management in the South Florida area and has managed several governmental <br />and commercial projects. His experience includes working for the Miami-Dade County Parks Department <br />and he has extensive knowledge in construction administration, cost estimating, critical path project or- <br />ganization and quality control. Kevin brings a depth to the ORDA team with his construction expertise. <br /> <br />ORDA is pleased to announce that Alvarez Engineers, a Miami based engineering firm, will provide us <br />with professional engineering services. Alvarez Engineers will provide all necessary support personnel in <br />the areas of utility coordination, MOT plans, electrical and civil engineering services, permitting, quality <br />control and any other support required throughout the duration of the project. Their staff has extensive <br />training in all phases of design and their proficiency in the local codes and requirements allows them to <br />move projects forward steadily to completion. Tom Graboski & Associates, a Miami based graphic de- <br />sign firm, will provide us with environmental signage and graphic design. If the need arises for horticul- <br />tural expertise, ORDA has a strategic alliance with Lisa Hammer, Horticultural Consultant. The team has <br />a long standing relationship with numerous projects successfully completed together and are currently <br />working on the US-1/Pinecrest Parkway Beautification Project. <br /> <br />Past Performance on Public Projects <br />ORDA is extremely proud of its record of performance with public agencies. In order to achieve contin- <br />ued success, the firm places extreme importance on the management and control of each project. As a <br />testament to our commitment to our clients, ORDA has been serving as the Landscape Architectural <br />Consultant to the City of Aventura since its inception in 1995 performing tasks such as site plan review, <br />permit review and inspections, park design, streetscape design, irrigation design, maintenance specifica- <br />tions and schedules, landscape code review and modification, landscape studies, tree surveys, mainte- <br />nance monitoring including analysis and evaluation of existing landscape conditions and recommenda- <br />tions for improvements. Throughout our 40+ year partnerships with local architects, engineers, horticul- <br />turists, and municipalities we have been able to create successful, urban spaces for South Florida com- <br />munities. Our most recent projects include the design of Pinecrest Parkway, a four mile FDOT roadway <br />for the Village of Pinecrest, three community parks, entrance and beach pavilion for the Town of Golden <br />Beach, an urban plaza and civic green for the Village of Palmetto Bay and a city center park for the City <br />of Doral. As designers passionate about detail and aesthetics, we strive for beauty in each of our pro- <br />jects and design with an intimate understanding that the long-term sustainability of every component <br />must be addressed and accounted for.
