<br />in motor
<br />scooter fall
<br />
<br />Two people were killed
<br />after they were thrown (rom
<br />their motor scooter on Fed-
<br />eral Highway south of Fort
<br />Lauderdale on Tuesday,
<br />according to the Broward
<br />Sheriff's Office.
<br />The crash happened
<br />shortly after 6 p.m. on south-
<br />bound Federal Highway just
<br />north o( Fort lauderdale-Hol-
<br />lywood International Airport,
<br />BSO said.
<br />The man and the woman
<br />riding the scooter were
<br />thrown onto the roadway,
<br />where several vehicles ran
<br />over them. Both died at the
<br />scene.
<br />"Investigators aren'l sure
<br />at this point whether the
<br />motor scooter was struck or
<br />whether it struck another
<br />vehicle or exactly what
<br />caused those people to leave
<br />the motor scooter and land on
<br />the highway," BSO spokes-
<br />man Jim Leljedal said.
<br />Deputies withheld the
<br />pair's names on Tuesday
