Dannheisser <br />City Attorney <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach <br />17070 Collins Avenue, Suite 250 <br />Sunny Isles Beach, Florida 33160 <br />(305) 947 -0606 phone (305) 949 -3113 fax <br />To: City Commission <br />From: City Manager <br />Date: March 11, 1999 <br />Subject: APPROVAL OF ADMINISTRATIVE REGULATIONS <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Pursuant to Section 3.7 of the City Charter, and an ordinance scheduled for 2 °4 reading <br />this evening, the City Commission is requested to authorize, by resolution, five <br />Administrative Regulations issued by the City Manager as follows: <br />Regulation Number and Title <br />1 -2 Tobacco or Tobacco Products Abstention as Pre and Post <br />Employment Requirements <br />1 -3 Policy Governing the Use of City Vehicles <br />1 -4 Establishment of Policy for Travel on City Business <br />1 -6 Accident Review Board <br />2 -1 Police Accident Review Board <br />REASONS <br />1 -2 Requiring no smoking for six months prior to hiring, positively affects <br />the City's life insurance policy rates and may also impact health <br />insurance premium costs. <br />1 -3 This regulation requires that City vehicles be used for official business <br />purposes only, thereby protecting the City. <br />1 -4 This rule sets standards for meal allowances and other expenses when <br />on a City business trip and sets out relevant procedures. <br />1 -6 & 2 -1 These two regulations set out procedures for reviewing traffic <br />accidents involving employees and disciplinary action, should the <br />employee be judged at fault. <br />
